  back in 2003/4 when i was living in truth or consequences, new mexico there was this sister and her non witness husband that moved into our area.

  it was plain to see that the sister was suffering from serious mental problems.

  she was a very nice lady, but was unstable a lot of the time.

  i have been trying hard to do what i can to "enlighten" my family and friends who are on fb.

  to that end, i have posted many of the vids...the original gb vid, parodies, etc.

  i have asked for their honest opinion, and while i've only received two, by means of a couple who are friends of mine, i wanted to share the back & forth between us.

  Yes, it's good to know that it's not just us who can see the immense guilt trips fostered on young kids. It truly is sickening to realise kids are still being brought up like this!!

  I know of someone who had their baptism anulled because on the day of his baptism he admitted he didn't even believe in God.

  i was outraged by selma and steve and the quote from a nuremberg convicted nazi theologian.

  this man was a key nazi and his theology fueled national socialism.

  there was no way to get in touch with the gb or writing department.

  reading through the posts here i realise that these people shun those those who have left the organisation, that is very sad.

  an emotionally insecure adult, very possibly prone to deceive and hide his real feelings for fear of displeasing those he loves but whom he secretly fears, and rightly fears, because they'll turn on him without hesitation if he does wrong.

  SOOOOO perceptive!!! This was me growing up, and as a JW adult too.

  i had a fellow ex-jehovah's witness (who's a male by the way, he has a youtube channel) who sent me a message on facebook saturday morning that was very sexual in nature.

  please be careful when added certain people on facebook, just an heads up.

  also be careful with credit card info, giving certain private also.

  I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

  Don't automatically trust someone just because they claim to be an exJW.

  Anyone can pretend to be somebody else on the internet. I don't add people to my facebook just because they say they are exJWs or are even "friends" with other exJWs I know. I wouldn't let just anyone into my house so why should I be completely open with complete strangers just because they claim to be an exJW.
